In light of the latest Coronavirus developments, Stone Age Farmacy wants to let their customers know that the health of our customers and staff is our number one priority. In addition to limiting the number of customers permitted inside our showroom, multiple hand sanitizing stations, and employee & customer face-mask requirements, we are now offering curbside pickup to online shoppers.
We are also planning to bring back a home delivery option very soon, so let us know you want Stone Age to deliver to your area.
At all points we are and will be acting according to the Center for Disease Control guidelines governing the cleaning and sanitizing of our retail and packaging facilities, including but not limited to debit card terminals, ATMs, POS stations, countertops, doorknobs, restrooms, and all high-contact surfaces.
In addition, we are closely following updates to California's Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response website at covid19.ca.gov for statewide recommendations and announcements as the situation evolves. You can also check this online resource maintained by Weedmaps to learn more about how the Coronavirus is impacting the cannabis industry.

Unfortunately this is something that all licensed dispensaries in the state must account for, whether it is bundled into the price or listed separately on the receipt, it still must be paid. Stone Age Long Beach has made the decision to be completely transparent with our medicinal and recreational customers about how much the state of California requires to be set aside for taxes.
Excise Tax
The excise tax is a business tax specifically for cannabis products that are passed on to the customer. In California, the 15% state excise tax can either be included in the price of the item or added to the customer receipt.
Sales Tax
The sales tax is the traditional tax we're all used to paying when we make purchases. The tax rate differs from state to state and city to city, usually it's between 4% and 17%. In states like California and Maryland, medical patients can avoid this tax with a valid medical marijuana identification card (MMID).
Sales tax is added to the state's general fund and is often used towards public safety, health programs, local transportation, and education.
Cumulative Cannabis Taxes
In California, there are sometimes two, three or even four separate taxes applied that are charged at the point of sale. These taxes include excise taxes, sales taxes, municipal or local business taxes, and any additional flat fees. Unlike other states that calculate taxes just on the simple subtotal or retail price of an item, California and Michigan marijuana taxes must be calculated with a certain order of operations to arrive at the correct total, as the taxable amount increases and compounds after each tax is calculated. We call this type of layered calculation "cumulative taxes" or "compounding taxes".
Local Government Cannabis Business Taxes
Some cities have enacted measures requiring that cannabis businesses located in their jurisdictions pay a cannabis business tax. Whenever an expense of the retailer is separately added to any taxable sale, the expense is also subject to sales tax. Learn more

Debit & Credit Cards (with PIN numbers) Accepted
Stone Age now accepts credit cards with PIN numbers! If you are not sure if your credit card has a PIN number, learn more about it here. You may also use our on-site ATM or make a purchase using your debit card with our Cashless ATM system.
What is a credit card PIN and how do I get one?
Associated Fees
Each debit or credit card transaction includes a $3.50 fee, in addition to any fees your bank may assess on top of that. Those additional fees would be equivalent to what you are normally charged by your bank to use an "out of network" ATM. Bank ATM fees vary based on your bank and the type of account you have. A 2017 Bankrate report found that that the average cost for withdrawing money from an out-of-network ATM reached a record $4.69 this fall. The average fee ATM operators charge also increased to $2.97.

Certain merchandise either is not returnable by its nature or is not considered to be returnable. The requirements of California Civil Code section 1723 do not apply to plants/flowers, which are considered perishable goods.
Of course certain exceptions may apply, in extraordinary circumstances such as flowers containing mold, mites, or foreign objects. Simply discovering a particular strain or other cannabis-infused product isn't for you after getting home and trying it out would not be considered valid grounds for a return. We therefore encourage you to ask questions and visit manufacturer's websites before trying a new cannabis product.
For more information about returns, visit the Stone Age Return Policy.
Under current California regulations, stores can sell only one ounce of cannabis, 8 grams of concentrate, and six immature plants daily to recreational users. Medical users can purchase up to 8 oz. of cannabis and 12 plants daily. Cannabis products such as tinctures, capsules and topicals are limited to a maximum of 1,000 mg per package for the adult-use market, but patients can purchase products containing up to 2,000 mg of THC per package.
The wait is over! Recreational customers are welcome at our Long Beach facility. You must be 21 or older and able to present government-issued identification, such as a driver's license or state ID card.
If you're new to cannabis, you might want to check out this 'Beginner's Guide to Buying Recreational Marijuana'. Please note: It is still illegal to consume marijuana in public, on sidewalks, and in places where smoking tobacco is prohibited.
The California Supreme Court has ruled that employers have a right to drug test and fire patients who test positive for marijuana, regardless of their medical use (Ross v. RagingWire Telecommunications, 2008). Some employers will excuse patients if they present a valid 215 recommendation. Others won’t. Marijuana is never permitted in jobs with federal drug testing regulations, such as the transportation industry.
In general sales of marijuana are NOT permitted under Prop 215. However, SB 420 authorizes legal caregivers and collective/cooperative members to charge for their expenses in growing for others on a “non-profit” basis. Growers who provide for others should either be members of a collective or be bona fide "primary caregivers".

More rewards coming soon! |
We have deployed a brand new customer loyalty program for 2021, simplifying rewards redemptions and allowing the addition of some very exciting new prizes (coming soon). Unfortunately this also means loyalty points collected prior to 2021 may no longer be available.
Don't worry, this is not something that can happen again anytime soon. Upgrading our technology is just one of the many adjustments required of CA cannabis retailers to comply with statewide Track-and-Trace efforts. Any minor short-term expenses or inconveniences to retailers and customers have been far outweighed by the expanded access, enhanced safety measures, and improved overall quality control the industry now enjoys throughout California.
A few years back, it was not uncommon for California collectives to offer ‘compassionate care’ programs, whereby cannabis would be heavily discounted, or even donated to qualifying patients. These charitable programs were considered essential, if not life-saving by low-income individuals for whom marijuana was one of the few remaining options to relieve their suffering.
Unfortunately, those programs all but disappeared following the passage of MAUCRSA - the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulatory Safety Act, allowing Californians over 21 to legally buy pot for recreational use. An unintended consequence of the act was to instantly make these kinds of programs economically unsustainable, even for non-profit collectives intending to donate product to patients in need.
Fortunately, that’s changing. California’s new compassionate care act, SB 34, took effect on March 1st, 2020. Now, compassionate care programs like WAMM Phytotherapies in Santa Cruz, can once again legally receive donated product from growers, and in turn provide free or low-cost medical marijuana to those who need it most.
While Stone Age Farmacy does not yet have an avenue for participating in a program like this, we hope to be able to offer some kind of compassionate care discount in the near future.
In the meantime, the best options for saving money at Stone Age are below:

Cannabis smoke is formed when the dried leaves, flowers, stems, seeds, and resins of cannabis plants are burned.
- Cannabis (marijuana) smoke is on the Proposition 65 list because it can cause cancer. Exposure to cannabis smoke may increase the risk of cancer.
- Cannabis smoke is also on the Proposition 65 list because if a pregnant woman smokes cannabis, this can affect the development of the child. For example, this may affect the child’s birthweight, memory, and attention.
- Proposition 65 requires businesses to determine if they must provide a warning about exposure to listed chemicals.
What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. These chemicals can be in the products that Californians purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. By requiring that this information be provided, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals. Read more

While we do our very best to keep our Weedmaps menu accurate, there's always a chance the shop gets an unexpected rush, causing a delay in getting an out of stock item removed. Therefore, if there's a specific item you are interested in, we always recommend calling (562) 676-4014 to confirm before you travel to the shop, or ordering online.
While home delivery is not available at this time, there are plans to bring it back very soon; you may remember us as "PRC Delivery". In the meantime, we encourage you to order online and give our new curbside pickup option a try.
We're still figuring out which cities to include in our delivery radius, so let us know if you want Stone Age to deliver to your neighborhood.
When Stone Age San Pedro opens (be among the first to know), a brand new schedule of Daily Deals will be announced that will not be connected to those offered in Long Beach. As we get to know our new customers, our expert vendor liaisons will take note of the most popular brands and products in San Pedro, and continuously strive to craft the promotions you want to see.
